Beliefs are very important, aren’t they? However, if beliefs are not practiced, then they become merely an empty, hypocritical relic that may win trivia contests yet not win people for Jesus Christ.

At Gravel Hill Baptist Church, we are transparent about both what we believe and why we believe it. In this ever-changing world today, we MUST have a foundation to stand on due to the entangling web of humanistic standards of false doctrinal teaching contrary to the Holy Bible.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (2 Timothy 4: 3-4).

Therefore, sound (uncorrupt) doctrine is essential to live by if there is to be a consistent, contagious witness of Christian influence. Doctrinally, we are both founded and aligned as a Southern Baptist Church and our beliefs are consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000—click this link to view a summary of our statement of doctrinal practice: http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp
